And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. ~ Kahlil Gibran

Conversation Overheard Coming Home From Wolfie's House

Big Sprout: You know, I really wish you would quit bossing me around.

Barefoot Gardener: No way! I waited a long, long time to be a mother and have someone to boss around. I had to take it from my folks, so now you have to take it from me. Besides, it's fun.

Big Sprout: That is SO not fair!

Barefoot Gardener: Yes, it is. Someday YOU will be the mommy, and then you will know the joy of having your own children to torture. You should be taking notes now, you know, so that you don't forget any of the valuable lessons I am teaching you....

Ooh! Turnabout is so fun when you are in the driver's seat! I was the goodie two-shoes of the family. I had nice, cooperative little girls. My sister was hell-on-wheels and now has very challenging (but loving) children. My mother is laughing her a$$ off up in heaven (or wherever she ended up!)

when our son was young and while I was driving he used to have the habit of sitting behing me, shaking the drivers seat and chewing gum in my left ear.

Time after time I warned him that when he got older and was driving, I would do the same to him.

He is and I do and it is soooo satisfying to really annoy him by doing just that and then say "I did warn you!"
