I'm going to be your first participant!
LOTR: I read the books, then saw the movies on purpose. Liked the books a lot better, but that's not to say the movies were bad.
Harry Potter: Never got into it. Tried to watch the movies, tried to read the books, but I just can't feign interest. Sorry. Maybe you need to have kids before you get interested?
Thanks for joining in! I love to hear from my (10, including Mom) readers. As for our differences in movie taste...
To each their own, Jacki. I love all things magical, so it is natural for me to like these films. You have interests and talents elsewhere.
Okay, I'll bite!
1. Monty Python and the Holy Grail- so many silly, quotable lines
2. The Big Lebowski- I catch more every time I watch it.
3. Raising Arizona
4. O Brother Where Art Thou (notice a Coen Brothers thing going here?)
5. Borat- yeah, a lot of it is adolescent locker room type humor, but it never fails to make me laugh out loud...which is a good thing!
6. The Princess Bride
7. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
8. Field of Dreams
9. Dances with Wolves (okay, now I've got the Kevin Costner thing going...but most times I can't bear to watch the ending)
10. The Blues Brothers
bonus...if I still had a copy, "Say Anything". John Cusack is so lovable.
Woo Hoo!
Deb, I totally forgot Blues Brothers and Blues Brothers 2K! Man, keeping it to 10 messes me up every time.
You know, DH LOVES O Brother Where Art Thou and I have never seen it. I gotta sit down and watch that one.

My favorite all time movie is The Princess Bride. In fact, when I received my Orders to Germany, the first phrase I learned was "Any body want a peanut?"
Kati-
AAAHHH, Last of the Mohicans! Daniel Day Lewis at his hottest. That movie was so fabulous. And the soundtrack just as great!
Wendy-
I can just see you...wanting to ask for the bathroom, and all you know is your favorite line from your favorite movie.
At least you have your priorities in order! LOL
(Re: Daniel Day Lewis at his finest) PRECISELY!
