And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. ~ Kahlil Gibran

It's Not the Heat, It's the Humidity

You know, I always thought folks who said that were a little cracked in the head. OF COURSE it's the heat that bothers you! Who cares about the humidity?!

Today, I care. Here in my humble little town the temperature is sitting at just over 80 degrees F, and the humidity is 70%.

My hair looks a little 'fro-ish, and when I got home from work this morning and went to take a nap the bed literally felt wet.

Yuck.

At least the plants are gonna like it.

Today I took the younger 2 to the Quarry Days parade, and at the beginning it was cool and threatening rain. At the end the sun was out and the air was almost dripping. Now we're under a tornado watch...WTF?

Like they say about Arizona in the summer..."It's a DRY heat!" It can be 112 degrees, but you won't sweat very much because of the low humidity.

Singapore, on the other hand, was usually in the nineties, but Always had humidity above 90%. I would break a sweat just toweling off after a shower!

So now I live in Tennessee where it is... umm... humid?!?

Deb-
Dripping is right! Bro and I joked that it we didn't sweat, it was condensation....

Lisa-
Ick, 112 can't be fun no matter how dry it is!

I bet Tennessee has us beat. You get warmer for longer. But I still reserve the right to be cranky when going outside feels like walking into a wet blanket.
