And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. ~ Kahlil Gibran

Brain Dump

So I am just going to purge all the things bopping around in my Barefoot Little Brain today....

- My brother informed me that a 2,000lb vehicle moving at 30mph when involved in an accident puts 60,000lb of pressure on a car seat. Really?! Oh, wow... I am so glad my Little Sprout is fine....

- I hate my clothes washer. The stupid thing gets off balance EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

- Quitting smoking is harder than it looks. You would think that just saying "no" would be much easier. I am not so good at saying "no" at the best of times....this is not going well

- I am so tired of hearing "MINE! MINE!" I think my brain is going to explode....

- There is so much cleaning to be done....I have been doing well on keeping up on things the last couple of weeks, but it seems that there is not much progress being made despite all my efforts. I mean, I just swept and mopped the floor the other day! Why is it dirty again?! And this laundry thing...Every day I think I have it all done, and then every day my family insists on wearing clothes. It will never be "done".

- Parent-Teacher Conferences are tonight. I get to find out how in the world Big Sprout managed to get a D+ in ART, of all classes. She is an A and B student in all of her other classes, I don't understand how she can be doing so poorly in art. I mean, really.

- I have spent too much time on the 'puter already today....I have things that need doing before Step-Sprout1 comes for a visit tonight.....

Chill out! If each of us was as open and honest as you, we could make lists just as long. :)

Life is an exercise in frustration. Every time we think we have things figured out, we find out we don't. Things that look easy from afar, rarely seem so easy up close.

If you think about it, life is truly about repetition! We eat the same foods, wear the same clothes, follow the same steps day in and day out. The key to contentment is to recognize this repetitive nature and to rejoice in it.

As the late great Winston Churchill said, "Life is just one thing after another." And in all my years of living, I have YET to find something that disproves that statement :-) Welcome to normalcy, BG.

I'd wonder about the art teacher...

I really only want to go to one out of three conferences this spring. Even though my older two are smart, good kids the teachers somehow just rub me the wrong way.

Maybe Big Sprout thought the class was about Fart! It could happen! Not that I would know. or anything. i'm just saying!

RT-
Umm, that IS me being chill. You should see me when I am really freaking out :)

Anony-
Mr. Churchill was a wise man. Still... there should be something to make each day special, shouldn't there?

Deb-
I am lucky that I have usually liked Big Sprout's teachers.

Lisa-
*snort* Yeah, I bet you're just sayin' ;D

BG, each day IS special! It only happens once and never again. Don't you think that qualifies as special?

Fart class - I LOVE IT!
