And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. ~ Kahlil Gibran

Oh Me, Oh My

I just picked 20.4 lbs of beans out of my veggie patch. 20 POUNDS. At once.

I move tomorrow....am I in any place to be dealing with 20 lbs of beans?! Yikes.

So, I worked a short 7 hour shift today, then tomorrow morning I have to be up early to start moving our furniture (Mr. Barefoot is bound and determined that tomorrow will be the first sleep night at the new house). After that, I can set up our bed at the new house and try to sleep while Mr. Barefoot and family keep moving stuff. I have to work the overnight Sunday and Monday, both days being furniture moving days. Argh. After THAT, hopefully, I will be able to be a bit more helpful with the moving thing. I am thinking maybe I can bring my beans to work with me and clean and process them there. I wonder if my boss would mind....heh. I am thinking she probably would.

Anyway, I don't have anything really to say. This may be my last post for a bit, as we won't have 'net service in the new place 'till the middle of next week. I don't figure that Mr. Barefoot will let me keep the 'puter here at the old place and keep writing to you all while he is hauling all our stuff over to the new house.

Be well, and don't do anything too interesting while I am gone!

wow! 20 lbs!! That's some garden you've got there!

It's hard having the garden coinciding with some big event-- moving, birth of a baby, wedding etc... I was canning the night before I had the baby then canned the day after I got home.

You'll figure it out and get things done. Totally understand if you won't be around for a few days. Don't worry about us, we'll wait for ya! :o)

Hi and a warm UK welcome to the new home to you and yours!!!

PS. Jenny, I got canned the day after our son was born... but perhaps that means something different in the US?

YEAH for getting so much done!!! Glad to hear you had such fun at your friend's house after getting so much done in YOUR house the other day. Also glad to hear about such a big harvest from your garden, even if it does come at the same time as you're working on getting moved in.

We'll miss you while you go non-internet for a few days, but I know I'll be here waiting when you get back, as will everybody else I'm sure. Take your time getting set up in your new home, and enjoy the chance to play decorator for a while before getting down to the day-to-day enjoyment of YOUR NEW HOUSE. *grin*

20 lbs Barefoot?? That's a whole heckuva lot of beans! I got a handful--just enough for supper and was happy for that. Good luck with getting everything done. I'm so happy for you to finally be moving into your NEW HOUSE!! WOO-HOO!
