And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. ~ Kahlil Gibran

Only One More Month...

As you may have noticed, my depression has been getting worse and worse. I don't have the heart to blog very much, I don't have the heart to do anything.

But...

There is a ray of hope.

Looking at my blog posts from last year, I see that there is only a little over a month before things should start looking like spring around here. Traditionally, I perk up when the weather warms and I can spend much of my time with my hands in the dirt.

So I am counting the days, and hoping so desperately for buds on trees and green grass.

Just keep going and it will be here soon. I saw a daffodil the other day. If I had a camera I'd take a picture for you. I'm surprised the weekend freeze didn't kill it.

Is it too early to plant some tomato seeds or something else inside? That would give you some gardening to do in preparation for doing more outside.

(((((HUGS))))) I'm sorry things are feeling so rough right now. I wish there was something I could do to speed that time along for you. I hope that when things start getting tough every day, you keep in mind how many friends you've got out here rooting for ya. Stay strong, BG!!!!

Hi Barefoot, this will be you in a few weeks...

Dear God, there are times when I hear your voice most clearly in greenness: in the singing of sap, in the conversations of the leaves, the whisperings of shoot and stem, root sap and cell, calling me back to creation to feel the freshness of you running through everything like a bright emerald current.

God of greenness, you know well my tendency to fill my life with my own methods of communication. Thank you for constantly returning me to the simplicity of yours. Again I experience you in the in the rejoicing of bare feet on a damp forest path, in the wonder of light thrown against a kaleidoscope of tree ferns, in the myriad texture of leaves, in the embrace of moss-clad trees, in the shining of you beneath every surface.

Beloved creator, coming to your greenness is always a coming home, a time of peace and grace as the unimportant in me falls away and I know again that bright green shoot of my own beginning which comes from you and is one with you, bright and beautiful God.

I use prayer this for environmental services and, for obvious reasons, it seems to apply to you.

Hugs sweetheart - Sounds like you may need to just head back over to the conservatory so Little Spout AND you can run around in the warmth among the plants. :)

That's it! I'm buying you a Chia Pet to tide you over til spring! The regiment of cheesecake three times a day just isn't enough, I guess. I can't decide on the perfect pet for you though. Should I get the Elvis Chia, the Troll one, or maybe, every one I can find!

You'll be digging in the garden real soon. it would help though if you didn't live in the frozen North! But I promise you, Baby, spring is coming. It's just starting at my house and working it's way to you!

You guys are the greatest, really. I just love you all to pieces.

Peter, that prayer is absolutely beautiful!

And Lisa, I laughed so hard at the Chia Pet thing...I kept thinking about the year all Big Sprout wanted was a Scooby Doo Chia Pet...

Thanks for brightening my day, each and every one of you.
