And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. ~ Kahlil Gibran

Ho Hum...

I have been organizing my craft supplies, something that desperately needed to be done. It is very difficult to be creative when you can't even see what you have to work with. Seeing everything all neat and tidy has really inspired me to get going on a few projects that I have had on the back burner for a while.

I stopped in at my old work today. I was wearing my hair down, which I rarely do, and boy do I regret it. I saw my ex-boss. She has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and has been going through all the chemo and radiation therapy. She once had hair down to her bottom, and now she is bald as a billiard ball. She kept commenting on how nice my hair looked and how long it is getting (I had a really butch short haircut when I worked there). I could tell it hurt her to see such long hair when she had none (her hair was her pride and joy). I felt like an insensitive jerk. If I could have cut my hair off in that moment and glued it on her head, I would have.

And to make it worse she offered me another job, again. I so badly want to go back to work there, but the pay is miserable, the hours unstable, and I would have to pay daycare for Little Sprout. It just won't work right now. It sucks.

Little Sprout now says "nana". She absolutely loves bananas, and asks for them quite loudly. She is also walking with much more confidence, and has learned to "sign" when she is hungry or thirsty. I have been trying to get her to learn some basic signs, because my main complaint about little ones at this age is that they know what they want, but no one else does. I figure the sooner she can let us know what to do for her, the better.

She has been practicing climbing, which I discourage as much as possible. I am also discouraging her new game of "let's break off all the blinds". She has recently discovered that if she really reaches, she can reach the mini-blinds in her room. She then contentedly spends her nap-time snapping off the ends of each blind.

I guess we will be replacing those when we move. If we move.

Well, that is about it. I am off to coerce the little one into taking a nap, cuz I am tired.

Hello and Happy New Year!

I just stumbled across your blog and had a good read! You and I have many of the same interests including gardening and Trixie Belden! I only have 5-6 of the books and they are from when I was a kid!

Blessings
Linda

Why, thank you, Linda! Pull up a chair and stay awhile. There is always room for more friends around here.
