We went to California the last week of March to celebrate FIL's 23 yrs of sobriety. FIL and step-MIL live in the mountains above a cute little town called Sonora. I couldn't believe how green things were! Most of the pictures I took were of roses and pansies and azaleas all in bloom. I did some walking in the mountains (much different than walking here in the Great Plains), and we visited Mercer Caverns outside of Murphy. Mercer Cavern goes 16 stories straight down. It didn't seem like it on the way down, but I felt every step on the way back up! All in all it was a great week away from home.
