And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. ~ Kahlil Gibran

The Words Escape Me

Sometimes I have an opinion that I just can't find the words to express.

Sometimes I have things I want to share that I have trouble putting together coherently.

Sometimes I think things that I don't believe will be popular, and I don't want to talk about them if I can't speak (or write) eloquently and concisely.

Sometimes I struggle with issues, and my thinking becomes circular. My writing then becomes unreadable.

Sometimes I have things I want to talk about, but don't feel I should. Then the things I want to talk about choke out the things I can talk about.

Sometimes I just have to take a breath.

You're describing something everyone understands! It really doesn't matter how educated someone is. It doesn't matter how well a person writes. In fact, it often doesn't matter how wise a person is.

Words rarely are enough to express our innermost being. Words and sentences tend to cloud our true meaning. In the end, words are nothing more than a necessary "evil". :)

I understand the feeling but I think you're WAAAY over-analyzing things, dear. It sounds like you are your own worst enemy. So what if you don't believe your thoughts will be "popular" - who cares? They're YOUR thoughts and it makes no nevermind what anybody else thinks of them. Just chill and enjoy life. The "correct" words are not necessary.

*chuckling* Take your breath, dear, then don't worry too much about what you want to say, and just say it. You're not going to lose friends over it, I can almost guarantee you, and if you do then they're not the kinda friends you want anyway.

Prayers for the women in the Barefoot family. I hope that whatever the bad news, it improves considerably over the next couple of weeks and y'all can go into spring with happiness.

YEAH for the Sprouts getting to enjoy the "break-up" weather. (That's what we call "Spring" up here, as we don't really have spring, so much as "melting snow and lots of puddles" then Summer arrives.) Glad that Little Sprout went right down for bed, after her warm bath and some supper.

Loving the quote. Thanks for sharing. (And oh how true it is, unfortunately, the tendency to avoid opportunity because it requires some work.)

Have a GREAT week, BG!

I love words, but often the short-comings of language frustrate me.

Of course I am too hard on myself! That is my best talent...

Thanks for the well wishes. I don't necessarily worry about losing friends. I just feel that I have good points, and the only way to make folks see that is to express myself well. If I just blabber out something that doesn't make sense, I can't be very convincing...
