Took the Sprout's and Pip to Wild Mountain Water Park.....
Went through 16oz of sunblock, and still ended up burned.....
Had my heart broken by an offhand comment made by Pip ("no, my family is too busy to notice if I don't come home. Dad is getting his driver's license back today, so they are all out celebrating.").......
Found out that swim diapers are not designed to contain liquid deposits, only solids.....
Forgot the bread for the sandwiches; improvised with soda crackers found in the van.....
Remorselessly decapitated 3 wood ticks.....
Discovered that Little Sprout is as big of a control freak as Barefoot Mommy......
Sat in 6 inches of water for approximately 4 hours......
Took a few really lousy pictures on one of those terribly overpriced disposable cameras after realising that I forgot my camera at home......
Got bit by a Sprout with the strongest jaw in the world......TWO TIMES......
Observed that when the word "sunscreen" is mentioned, preteen little sprouts suddenly become deaf and need to be somewhere else urgently.....
Gave up my Saturday hours at Job#2 (thank goodness).......
Purchased a dresser, armoire, love seat and toddler bed for the new house.....
Bathed one extremely uncooperative Little Sprout........
(ETA) Got word that Mr. Barefoot is now full blown diabetic......
(Also ETA) Had to literally beg Big Sprout to let me put aloe on her horrible, horrible case of sunburn.......
Can I take a nap now?

Oh, Pip's comment is absolutely heartbreaking. :(
How do you do that? I mean, I don't think I'm up to taking kids to a water park! Maybe to the Kettle River, where Calvin's friend took him the other day and found a cool spot, complete with waterfalls.
And I don't think your additions were there before I commented. I wish there was aloe for diabetes. At least sunburn goes away. I'm sorry. (My DH is a type 1)
Deb-
Kettle River is so pretty!
The water park was actually pretty easy....Big Sprout and Pip are old enough that I can let them run around and do what they want, as long as they check in every half hour to an hour. Little Sprout didn't want to go anywhere that she would get splashed or get water on her head, so I just sat in the "Adventure Island" area with her and watched other kids run around.
I, too, wish there was aloe for diabetes. My concern is that Mr. Barefoot isn't very interested in making the dietary changes needed to keep him in good health with his diabetes. I worry very much what that will mean for his future. What makes it worse is that he has a phobia about needles, so it is imperative that he manage his diabetes with diet and meds. I don't think he could handle poking himself a couple times a day if it came to that....
