Big Sprout Inspiration

Big Sprout came out of her room today (the last day of school) to show me a little magazine she got in Reading class. She especially wanted to read me a poem, and I loved it so much I just had to share.

Instructions For the Earth's Dishwasher
By Lisa Westberg Peters

Please set the
continental plates
gently on the

No jostling or scraping.

stack the

basins right side up.
No tilting or


Please scrape the

out of the mud pots.
But watch out!
They're still hot.

As for the forks
in the river,
just let them soak.

if anything breaks,
it's your fault.

Kinda makes you think, huh?

Oh. That's a neat little poem!!!! To consider the continental plates and such as actual dishware.... *grin* What a fun mental image!
