Brand New Gardener

The weather was fabulous today! Temps just above 70 deg F, sunny skies, green (well, almost green) grass, the smell of compost in the air.....just perfect. So I took Little Sprout over to my folks' place to get some gardening done.

See how strong she is? She broke the handle right off of that shovel!

Here she is inspecting one of the raised beds that pulled apart over the winter. I can just see the wheels turning as she figures out how to fix it.

After giving Grandpa his working orders, she grabbed my Garden Claw to break up the soil a bit. It is still really soft (the glory of raised bed gardening), but the top got a crust on it, so it needed to be mixed up a little.

Here she is giving Grandpa direction on the PROPER way to use the Garden Claw.

And, of course, all that gardening tired her out, so she took a nap in her toddler swing. Isn't she sweet?
