My Computer Hates Me

I don't know what is wrong with this stupid thing, but it doesn't want me online. Yesterday I spent HOURS trying to make this idiot thing work. Mr. Barefoot says it is the router, which makes it his fault. We wouldn't need a steenking router if he hadn't decided he needed a laptop.

I wonder what he would think of that logic.

Sometimes I think that they are out to get us, or at least drive us crazy.

Sometimes all it takes is to disconnect the router for 30 seconds then reconnect it. This "resets" the router and may fix the problem. Try that next time.

I agree with Mr. Barefoot...you gotta have a laptop.

Yeah, but if he didn't have a laptop, wouldn't that cut into your computer time? (I'm not trying to be the devil's advocate here, but I hog the computer when I'm at home, I would hate to give over any time to the spousal unit!)

Yes, if it means more computer time for you, I agree...keep the laptop!! I also agree with resetting the router. We have to have our dose of Barefoot Gardener!!

I agree. I always think about those books and movies where the machines take over the world when stuff like this happens. It really seems like the 'puter has a mind of it's own!

I have been trying that. It works for a little while, but then I try change pages and the 'puter fritzes out again. Hmph. Mr. Barefoot says he will have to reinstall it or some dumb thing.

Ruthie and Cat
Are you kidding? I never share the 'puter with Mr. Barefoot (which is undoubtedly why he got the laptop). He has 'puter access at work, so I figure the one at home can be mine. Right? RIGHT?!

Hehe, I am so evil....

Weren't we once assured that computers & electronics would make our lives EASIER??? It seems to me, all they've done is gotten us addicted, then periodically shut down (or jam up) and leave us no better off, time wise, and a whole lot worse off addiction wise. *wink*

Hope you get the danged router thingy going well & you can get back to use regularly!!!!

Hubby talks about getting a laptop. Or maybe getting our old one fixed.. whichever is cheaper and whenever we get some money.

Grrr...don't get me started on computers. I spent five hours of my precious Saturday time moving files on to the external hard drive and removing unnecessary programs so I could get up to the 15% free space necessary to defragment. In the process I removed the sound driver (How did it let me do that?), and screwed up something in the startup. Luckily we have a great computer store in town ten miles away! I'm picking it up this afternoon.
