Today, our VCR died.
I know, I know, it is pitiful that we still even own such an archaic device in todays world of TiVo and whatever all else there is.
But Little Sprout loves the VCR. From the VCR comes all her glorious "Bear in the Big Blue House" and "Sesame Street" programs.
Not only does Little Sprout love the VCR, but so do I. My only moments of peace come when Little Sprout is mindlessly enthralled by the colored lights on the screen and the surround sound singing of her favorite characters.
Today, the VCR not only died, but it took her very favorite "Bear" tape with it.
We are all in mourning.

I am so sorry for your loss! Please accept my sincere condolences. I know how you feel. I don't think I ever would have gotten a shower or a moment in the bathroom if it weren't for "Baby Songs" and related tapes!

*giggle* Yeah, well I will get over my loss pretty quickly when the new one arrives today. DH understands my need for privacy in the bathroom, so he has promised to pick one up on his way home from work. Until then, I gotta watch Barney....Yeach!
Please accept my sincerest condolences on your loss. I would have a very hard time with that.
If it makes you feel any better, I'm holding onto my VCR with both hands, and I'm about ready to wrap my legs around, too. Hubby wants to get rid of it, and all of the video tapes. He thinks the DVD player is superior ... yeah, until IT decides it doesn't want to read the disks. VCR's are so much less complicated, and frankly, my VHS tapes are much more durable than those flimsy DVDs. I also still have my cassette deck and several cassettes I enjoy listening to ;).
Thanks Wendy! I am glad I am not the only one who still enjoys the "old" technology. Not that I don't like DVD's, too (how can you beat never having to rewind them?), but I have so many movies on VHS that I just can't find on DVD! I don't want to give them up!
