My Walking Partner

This is my walking partner. Can you see how energetic she is? Actually, I am glad that she falls asleep on our morning walks, because then I can get her in the apartment and take a shower before she wakes up. Poor little thing is so bundled up she can hardly move, but it is in the low 30's this morning, and I don't want her to get frostbite or anything! She really seems to like it while she is awake. Little Sprout just loves to be outside. I don't remember Big Sprout being quite this excited about the outdoors.

I am up to my ears in reading material. I am still working on Voluntary Simplicity, but have now added "Your Money or Your Life", "Sink Reflections", and "Body Clutter". Oh, and I bought a Corel Photo-Paint book so that I can figure out that stinking program.

I also bought some nice, fuzzy material to crochet myself a scarf, and have been spending a lot of time on my cross stitch. I am hoping to have photos soon, but keep forgetting!

Oh, and I am searching for low-cal recipes that my family will actually LIKE in my spare time. I am trying to get more veggies hidden in foods so that Big Sprout will eat them, and also trying to lessen the amount of meat we eat. I am all for getting protein and all, but we go through a LOT of meat at my place. Not only is it expensive, but it can't be very healthy, either. I just want to get it down to the recommended serving size. No more 48 oz steaks for us, thank you.

Just don't tell DH.

Such an adorable walking partner! I loved, loved, loved "Your Money or Your Life", I read it at least 8 or 9 years ago, but it still tops my list of most recommended books to other folks.

Hey BG- I was in your neighborhood today and of course I was thinking of you! But, are you east of 65? I could not see any apartment that looked like it might be yours in the sprawl in the western end of your town. :) We were on our way to a pond where we unsuccessfully tried to raise muskies. We had to break 1/4 inch of ice in most spots. Ugh! I hate muskies.

Glad you have a sweet little walking partner who will sleep while Mom takes a shower. :)

Kathie-

Thanks! Trust me, she is much sweeter when she is asleep than when she is awake!

I am really liking "Money", and hope to be able to follow through on the ideas within.

Deb-

Nope, I am west of 65, but just barely. When I lived on the 3rd floor, I could watch traffic on 65 go by. Not usually pretty, but almost like christmas lights in the winter!
Now we are on the other side of the building, so I can actually look at grass and snowdrifts. Much better!

Grass and snowdrifts...definitely much better. I lived a block away from I35 when I was in Stacy, and the traffic noise was hell. Anyway, I was hoping to see the Barefoot Gardener residence! :)

Beautiful walking partner! I've not read any of these. Isn't Sink Reflections from the Fly Lady?

Deb-
I am lucky that I am just far enough from 65 that I can't hear the traffic (unless it's something REALLY loud).

BB-

Yup, Sink Reflections is by Marla Cilley aka Flylady. I don't know how happy I am with it, though. If you go on the website, just about everything is there. I was hoping for something new, but it's all there on the website. Still, having the book is nice. I do much better when I have the actual book in my hands. *smile*
