And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. ~ Kahlil Gibran

As I was doing my laundry the other day, I started wondering: why in the world do we wear undies? I get bras, because...well....ahem. I just don't get panties or boxers or briefs or whatever. I don't have any moral objections to undies, I just got curious because I am freaky like that.

So I googled it.

And found this.....and this.

Just one more thing that supports the idea that I am a little nuts.

How about the thongs the girls are wearing these days? I mean...why bother??

I have random thoughts like yours too. The underwear ones usually surface when a shortage of clean underpants dictates that I do laundry!

Not that I went and read the links you provided, so I don't know the historical reason behind why "we" wear undies. But I decided a couple of years ago that as uncomfortable as the things are, I saw no reason to continue wearing them. (Though now that I've started menstruating again, I DO wear them then. But when I'm not menstruating, I go "commando".) Probably TMI, I know. But you're not the only one who's ever wondered about this. Oh, and I never wear a bra unless I'm exercising or unless the outfit I'm wearing REALLY doesn't look right without one. Makes for some sag, I know, but hey.... At least I'm comfortable!

I hate bras. I mean, I don't have much to speak of anyway, so why bother? But there's just enough and I'm just old enough that without it, I look droopy. Oh well.

As for panties, I can't even think of not having them. It's just too ingrained in me to wear them. Maybe someday I'll be able to kick the habit. Until then, Hanes makes them my way :).

I have worn thongs once or twice, and I totally agree why bother. All they managed to do for me was allow chafage frome my jeans AND provide pinching material!

Commando, I can do. Bra-less? Only if my knees are cold! LOL

I am totally jealous. I have WAY too much on top to consider going bra-less, no matter how much I might like to. My belly is big enough, and I don't need two mountains of flesh flopping down on top of it to make it look bigger! Hehe!

I think it is cool that I have 3 such different responses to such a silly little post! This is cool!

Only if your knees are cold! LOL! Too funny! I hate bras...pull the underwire out of them, and go without whenever possible.

Small on top- so anti-bra.The straps dig in so! Prefer the panties in jeans and have done the thong thing but now I prefer the "boy short" as thongs can be mean and vicious in certain circumstances.

Unless you are home alone or have celebrity style over sharing complex I do think a little something under you skirt is a politer way to go.
