What a smart Barefoot Girl you are. The paint needed some time to dry and not have you bothering it every 10 minutes for an update. Paint can be very difficult to work with if it gets its nose out of joint by being badgered.

Hope it comes together well in a couple of days, so that you will share a photo or two!

So, try this next time. You go - by yourself - to the paint store. Get zillions of paint chips in colors you can live with and in a wide range. Then get him to choose among them. You may not end up with your favorite shade, but you may be happier with the result, and you may nudge him in your direction.

While it will be fun watching your progress, I do understand your dilemma. When we moved 12 years ago and started over decor-wise, I discovered that my husband thought that he should have a say in what we chose .... what!? I was floored. Didn't think he cared. Well, it turned out he has great taste and excellent color sense, but - big but - we did agree on style.

I wish it were so simple! The "wall" I would have to run the cord along is the open space between the living room and dining room. No wall! I would have to run the cord up to the ceiling, over and down... or along the transition between the laminate floor (dining room) and carpet (living room). Neither are great options. I'll figure it out, though!
